for some reason i told conor that i wanted to do a creepy space movie week. they are getting creepier and gorier. maybe with halloween coming up it will be a good excuse to scare myself, but then again, i'd like to get some sleep.

conor has asked me several times if i was sure i wanted to re-watch this. i only have one scene in my memory, but it doesn't include all the blood and gore that everyone keeps telling me about. i hope i will be brave enough tonight to put the dvd in the player.

uh oh. there are some things that make you cringe. like seeing a mouse run across the floor as you are eating dinner in a nice restaurant. or seeing technology giants take on letterpressing. will this give small letterpress companies some serious competition?

there are some days where i feel like i'm always running. and i've got to fucking win.

oh, how i love baking. Sweet Fine Day made the cutest kitchen conversions poster that i would love to hang in my kitchen. find it here.
when you start to play a sport that challenges every muscle in your body and you feel like you are going to have a mental breakdown from the pain, you start to understand how far you can push yourself and impress your captains, your teammates, your friends and your fans. you also become a sucker to how impactful nike ads start to become. the newest campaign completely clicked with something that was happening in practice today.
if you wait for the right moment, you get the boom.

back in high school, i used to belong to a program called tech prep. the program was meant to integrate extra technology and skill related classes into our schedule and make us smarter and savvier for the future. i don't know how much "extra" i ended up learning, but i mostly remember going on field trips to cemeteries and sailing boats when other students couldn't (the principal at the time banned field trips and made us the exception) and that they tested block scheduling on us (we always got yelled at for being in the hallway during regular class periods). there was one class where we learned how to use autoCAD and another where we learned to sew. one of the first classes we had to take was a typing class. we had to use these massive electric typewriters that always froze when you went over 50 wpm, and we learned how to type with more than our index fingers. there are two things that i remember most from that class. 1. i was in this class as we watched the verdict of the O.J. Simpson trial on the classroom television and 2. typing "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" for an hour straight.
BIS publishers has a typeface memory game that i adore and severely want. not only does it bring back such fond and odd memories of high school, but i'm totally geeked that it is a typeface guessing game. i take pride that my friends ask me for font names all the time, so i should buy this to keep sharp, right?
it seems like roller derby has not only taken up my free time, it has taken up my freelance time. the women's flat track championships are being hosted by my league this year, so i've been occupied making everything ready for it.
