word on the street is that a skeeball league is starting up in chicago. conor and i practiced our skills last night during 1/2 price game night at dave and busters (don't judge us), but i think it will take a few more sessions before we learn how to sink that elusive 100-point shot.

the second poster in the all-stars series is complete. let's swoon, shall we?

I had a lot of fun making the media kit for Joe Reyes, the owner of Actionbooth. He was looking for a kit to send to potential clients that told them a little about what they do, who they've worked for and how to book. We couldn't have an Actionbooth kit without some action shots, so we chose to highlight them throughout the kit. He also needed help writing the kit, so we collaborated on the word content as well. Take a look, let me know what you think.

i've had my share of being car doored (twice in the same week) and dodging drivers who insist on pushing me off the road and into a fence, but it's nice to see mayors doing something about making their cities more aware of bikers. rahm emanuel went ahead and starting installing protected bike lanes—which is pretty great—but not as impressive as lithuanian mayor arturas zuokas deciding to run over illegally parked cars with a tank. you've got my vote, sir.

it's been 8 years since i first became roommates w/ andrew david, and 5 years since we moved into erie street. we've had a good run and now it's time to part ways. thanks to all our friends that have shared good times with us at our beloved erie street. we'll never forget.

when i first heard LCD Soundsystem would no longer be together after their last show this saturday, i felt a little piece of me shut off. i have fond memories that i can directly link to their songs. i can place an entire summer that was set to their albums on repeat.

as much as i want to be in new york for the final show, i am super excited that pitchfork will be streaming the show live on the website. it reminds me of the last show the (original) Smashing Pumpkins played at metro. i wasn't there, but i sat in my bedroom that night, clutching the radio as they broadcast live.

farewell, old friend. i look forward to one last evening with you. and then i will wish you well and find something else to fill the void.

i took some time off to run away from the routine that is my life. i tucked away responsibilities i had to work, derby and winter and found myself on the beach in marco island, florida.

it was my first time there. we stayed in the condo that conor's parents owned that sat right on the beach. the sun was out every day and so were the residents—a league of retired citizens—who used to set alarms and put on shirts before stepping out the door. here, there was a new routine to live by. the only thing on the agenda was to make it outside, stay outside, and as the sun set, to call it a day.

the second night we were there we came out to the balcony to watch the sunset. little did we know that such a moment—one that we either didn't have time to watch or were stuck at our desks at work while it was happening—was part of life here. i looked around and found dozens of people on their balconies, ready to say goodnight. and as the sun began to sink into the glimmering ocean, an older gentleman began to play his trumpet. never had i seen such a tribute to something that i've always taken for granted.

this trip brought to light a few things that i have forgotten and must now embrace. when i become old, move to the beach and turn my skin to leather, only then will i'll finally decide to share it with you.

april's poster features the manic attackers. good for them!

then you find yourself in it and say:

"yes, i can."

i've been doing my best to keep sunday free of work and derby. today's success: homemade bagels. BAGELS.

my guilty pleasure is cheetos. i love them so much, my boyfriend instinctively keeps them stocked in his cupboard. today i found that a restaurant in NYC has a dish that combines broccoli with them. i want to go to there. read the post via the bitten word.

i recently found out i have some nonsense called "exercise induced asthma." who knew there was such a thing. i spent the past 6 months training to be a monster, to not let my fragile knees get in the way and to break past my endurance limitations so i could sprint like matt damon in the beginning of the bourne supremacy. (did you see how fast he runs?!?) was it all for nothing now that i can't breathe after just one 2-minute jam?

next week i'll have a chest x-ray and a date with an allergist to see what is going on in there. i wish i could train my lungs the way i have to train the rest of my body.

some days, i'm begging for just a little help.

no resolutions. just simple things to remind myself of what i am already capable of.
